Childhood Friends- Chapter 4

Chapter 4
Ash was already pretty far ahead of him, and had just gone out the exit.  Gary rushed out after him, and noticed that the sun was rising, so it must be early morning.  "ASH!" yelled Gary trying to get him to slow down, and suddenly realizing just how Ash must have felt the previous night.

"ASH!" Gary's voice called after him, sending a pleasant chill down his spine, but he couldn't stop, looking at Gary, being near Gary, he knew his feelings for him now, he wasn't sure how to act.  He felt like he was a little kid again for running away from his problems, but this was one no one had taught him about.  So he just dug his feet deeper in the ground to try to make some distance between him and Gary.  "ASH PLEASE STOP!" Gary sounded like he was right behind him, so while slowing down to sneak a peek over his shoulder, gave Gary time to catch Ash's hand firmly.  Ash turned red at the touch. "G-Gary I need to go home now, so, uh, please let me go my mom will get worried," Ash said trying to pull his hand out of Gary's grasp, but Gary didn't even seem to notice he just looked at Ash with such intensity.  "Why are you running away from me?" asked Gary. "Why'd you run away from me?!" Ash quickly shot back. Gary seemed taken aback by this question, and then Ash looked up into Gary's eyes and said bluntly. "I don't want to be your childhood friend anymore."
